Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca
Pick you up from the airport and drive to the center of Casablanca to visit Hassan ll mosque, it is the second biggest mosque in all Africa and the 7th biggest all over the world. The mosque is one of few open mosques for non-muslims to visit. Overnight stay.
Day 2:Casablanca-Rabat-Tangier
After breakfast at your Riad we will start our day by driving to Rabat, where we will explore the most important historical monuments of the city, Hassan tower and the Oudayaas Kasbah. Hassan tower’s construction began in 1195 and was commissioned by Ya’qub al-Mansur. Across from this great historical spot is the mausoleum of King Hassan the fifth, It contains the tombs of the Moroccan king Mohammed V and his two sons, late King Hassan II and Prince Abdallah.Afterward, you pay a visit to the Oudayas Kasbah, a walled neighborhood that dates back to the 12th century by the Almohads dynasty. Kasbah is still inhabited now, and it is a unique place looking at the Atlantic ocean with fantastic blue and white walls. Our journey continues to Tangier where you will get to visit Hercules caves, cape spartel and the old town. Overnight stay in Tangier.
Day 3 : Tangier- Chefchaouen
Today you will drive to Chefchaouen where you can stroll around the beautiful streets of the town. You will have a free afternoon in the city to explore it. Overnight stay in Riad/hotel.
Day 4: Chefchaouen- Fes
Today you will have half a day in Chefchaouen to have more time in the city and in the afternoon we drive to Fes enjoying the beautiful landscape of Morocco.
Or we will leave around 9:00 am to visit the Roman ruin Volubilis and the city of Meknes. Overnight stay in Fes
Day 5: Fes sightseeing
Today you will start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts by visiting the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all sites with cultural and historical interest including the famous Al Karaouine University, the oldest in the region, the Tanneries, the Attarine museum and Mulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you will visit the tiles cooperative and then experience a wonderful panoramic view over the whole Medina of Fes.
Day 6: Fes- Ifrane- Cedar forest – Middle Atlas Mountains – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Merzouga
We will pick you up from your Riad in Fes then drive southwards to Merzouga by the Middle Atlas mountains. On the way we will stop at cedar forest to see the Barbarian Apes in their natural habitat. Traveling through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock, you’ll see views of the Middle-Atlas plateau, noticing how the scenery changes to reveal hints of the desert as you approach the city Errachidia. After lunch, we’ll continue our journey through the Ziz valley, Erfoud, Rissani and Merzouga. In Merzouga you will take the camels to a luxury camp behind Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes. 20 km long and 5 km wide it is also reputed as the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It is a unique and diverse environment. The camel trek takes about 1hr 30 min from the start point to the camp. The camp is well equipped with mattresses, blankets, private bathroom and cushions. After dinner we gather round the fire and enjoy the desert night perhaps with traditional Berber drums.
Day 7: Merzouga Area.
Early in the morning you will have to wake up to watch what may be the best sunrise of your life. You’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga if you want to , if not then you will go in a 4*4. Over the dunes, you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes – changing the light as the day progresses.
We will drive the same road used in the famous Paris-Dakar Rally, reaching the old mines, visiting the tribe of gnaoua and enjoy their special music and have a Berber pizza for lunch with my family. We will stay in the Merzouga hotel tonight.
Day 8: Merzouga- Rissani- Todra gorges- Boumalne dades
After breakfast, we leave the desert to visit Rissani town, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani is still a major trading center in the region, with a large souk lively on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
After a stroll in Rissani Souk, we continue to Erfoud, where we visit one of the workshops of fossilized marble. Then we drive through Touroug and Tinjdad palm groves, to reach the Todra Gorges. The Todra river has carved out a grand canyon through the mountains -Making a high red cliff-sided canyon. These gorges are an ideal place for rock climbers. Feel free to wander in the gorges and appreciate the beauty of the landscape. Free time for lunch in a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, through Boumalne Dades. Inevitably stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation. And on a spot atop a mountain overlooking the Dades valley. Finally, dinner and overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 9: Dades Valley-Ait Ben Haddou-Marrakech
After breakfast we travel through the Dades Valley towards Kelaa M’gouna – called, “the way of the 1000s kasbahs”. We visit the city Ouarzazate and then explore local Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – the largest Kasbah in Morocco , a UNESCO heritage site. Then we will cross the high Atlas mountains till we reach the city of Marrakech. Overnight stay in a Riad.
Day 10: Marrakech sightseeing
After breakfast in the riad , you can start exploring Marrakech, “the red city of Morocco” ,Also one of the imperial cities . Your guide will ensure that you see the most important places of historical and cultural interest, including the Saadian tombs; the Bahia Palace and the Ben Youssef Coranique school. Today, you will also walk the souks and enjoy the fascinating colors and the wonderful smells. Lunch at a restaurant near the square, then in the afternoon you will visit the Majorelle Gardens, and the Koutoubia Tower.
Day 11 : Transfer to the airport
Today we will transfer you to Mohammed V airport, the drive will take 2 hours 30 minutes from Marrakech to the airport and here is where our tour will end.
