Marrakech – Boumalne – Merzouga – Fes – Chefchaouen – Tangier

1st Day : Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Boumalne

We will collect you from your Riad / Hotel after breakfast and head into the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying the breathtaking panoramic views. We will stop along the way to take in the scenic views and for photographs. Once we have traversed the Atlas Mountains, we will reach Ait Ben Haddou. A historical Kasbah which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is a famous backdrop for many Hollywood films; Gladiator, The Mummy, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and part of the TV series Game of Thrones, to name a few. After a walk to explore Ait Ben Haddou, there’s an opportunity to have lunch with a spectacular view of the Kasbah. Moving on, we drive through Ouarzazte, also known as Moroccan Hollywood as Morocco’s biggest filming studios are located here. The final destination for the day is Boumalne, where you will relax, maybe have a swim, enjoy an authentic dinner, have an overnight stay and breakfast the next morning.

2nd Day : Boumalne –Erfoud- Merzouga

After breakfast, a visit to Todra Gorge. A naturally formed limestone canyon, carved out by the Todra River overtime. It is an incredible sight that you will have the opportunity to explore and take photos. The journey continues on to Merzouga, the Gateway to the Sahara Desert. On arrival, you will be welcomed at the hotel with some mint tea. After tea, you will leave your luggage in your room, pack a small overnight bag and camel trek into the dunes. Along the way, stop to take in a warm Saharan sunset in the evocative ochre sand dunes. A warm welcome awaits at the traditional Berber camp. You will enjoy an authentic Moroccan dinner, desert drums to entertain you and stargazing.

3rd Day : Merzouga – Midelt – Ifran – Fes

Early start. Camel trek back to the hotel, stopping on the way to catch a beautiful Sahara sunrise and enjoy the tranquility of the dunes. Arrive at the hotel, have breakfast and shower. Depart for Fes, stopping along the picturesque route through the Ziz Valley which is lined with palm groves, to take photos. Drive through the Middle Atlas and arrive in Midelt. Travelling through Ifran, Azrou and stopping on the journey for lunch. If you’re lucky, you may be able to spot one of the famous Azrou monkeys that live in the cedar forests. Also known as the Barbary Macaque, an endangered species. Arrive in Fes, our final destination for the day. Enjoy dinner, overnight stay and breakfast at the Riad / Hotel.

4th Day : Fes – Chefchaouen

Depart from the Riad / Hotel after breakfast, to explore Fes. Fes is steeped in culture and history. The medina in Fes is one of the world’s largest car free zones; it has an old-fashioned charm. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Fes has much to offer and many enthralling places to visit. Visit the Karaouine Mosque and University. It is believed that this is the oldest operational University in the world! The mosque is not open to non-Muslims, but a good view can be seen from an entryway. Depending on time, other visits may include the Ibn Danan Synagogue, the Marinid Tombs and panoramic views overlooking Fes. After exploring Fes, the next destination is the Blue City: Chefchouen, located in the North-West of Morocco, in the beautiful Rif mountains. Famous for being painted in shades of blue. It’s a picturesque city, full of charm and artistic flair. A gorgeous backdrop for creative travel photos and a wonderful place to explore and relax. Here, you will spend the final night of the tour in your Riad / Hotel where you will dine in the evening and enjoy breakfast the following morning.

5th Day : Chefchaouen – Tangier

Depart for Tangier, another city in North-West Morocco. It has a multicultural community which has attracted famous residents and visitors alike, such as Tennessee Williams and The Rolling Stones. Stroll along the coastal promenade. Tangier’s souk and markets are full of colourful vibrancy. It is a port city and important trade link for Morocco, located on a bay of the Strait of Gibraltar. Tangier has long been a famous destination for Writers and Artists to escape to; a famous Moroccan writer from Tangier is Mohammed Choukri, who befriended other literary legends on their visits to Tangier, such as Tennessee Williams and Paul Bowles. Here, the tour comes to an end and you will be dropped off at your Riad / Hotel.
